We Like That - Home For Christmas

I don't want to go home for Christmas this year
Maybe it's irrational, but I'm kind of like
Why should I have to go back home at Christmas time
They're so dysfunctional and they always pry
Why I'm not concerned bout finding someone that's nice
Uh. I mean, like I deleted my Tinder
And I was just kind of hoping to find someone naturally, so
I don't want to go home for Christmas
Cause it's always the same thing year after year
Someone got all right wing
Then siblings started fighting
Then mom she started crying
While I'm sitting here slowly dying
Ho Ho Ho Ho
My sister's dude is loaded but he's hella nice
So it's kind of messed up that I want to see the life
Leave his eyes as he chokes on his tofurkey and riced
Cauliflower that made dinner half an hour late
This day ain't going great
The only cousin I don't hate
He slipped and fell on his way out the door
So he ain't coming, great
My grandmother just gave my niece
The ninth check of the day
And when my aunt found out
She told her that she only gave her eight
I don't want to go home for Christmas
Cause it's always the same thing year after year
Someone got all right wing
Then siblings started fighting
Then mom she started crying
While I'm sitting here slowly dying
Maybe we're just masochistic
Or maybe we're nostalgic cause life's not the same
Now we're forced to say something
Bout Black Lives Matter and climate change
When we're just longing for the days
Of waking up to video games
Whats this? Could it be
I notice a small package under the tree
Marked for me, says it's from Santa and
He want's me to save my family
So it's time to start the real party
I unwrap the cinnamon whiskey
That Santa baby he left me
I pour the bottle in the cider and before you know it
The smiles get wider and everybody starts to show that
Our differences aren't a big deal
My uncle's a seal
It's a dream, holy shit
I wake up covered in sweat
Some differences we have at Christmas
Are ones we can't get over cause it's not like we
Are disagreeing on something
Like eating carbs or sportsball teams
When human rights come into play
It's right or wrong
And there is no gray
If you don't want to go home for Christmas
Just remember that you're never on your own
There's so many like you
Who wanna do whats right too
Just take a breath and drink some cider
Cause we're right behind you
