The Grand Wazoo - Act 1 Scene 4: Oxmad, The Cowboy
Oxmad the cowboy
Was a jolly, happy soul
He licked his lizard and his kin
And boogied till the cows came home
Oh, Oxmad the cowboy
Was alive as he could be
And the children said he laughed and played
Just the same as you and me
There must have been some magic in that silly hat they found
For when they put it on his head
He began to yee and haw
Oxmad the cowboy
Is a sad, sad joke they say
Though he looked kinda funny and smelled
But his soul was made of gold
Oxmad the cowboy
Is a rough and tumblin guy
At the end of each long day
He'd yell yippie tie-ho tie-ay
Oh look at how the spotlight shines on him like the star of Bethlaham
Everyone look at this cowboy go, this ain't his first rodeo, no
Giddy up cowboy, giddy up stranger
O're the hill we go
Giddy up cowboy, giddy up stranger
Round the bend we go!
Down through the saloon
In the heart of Paris, France
He must of read some Voltaire and Rousseau, aussi
Et parle beaucoup de francois
La monsieur intelligent
Saw some tres beau mademoiselles
His conversationalism and his wit
Would determine his fate for the night
We hate to interrupt you during this psychotic jazz break down
But there is some context that I should provide
The guy who was singing in the last verse
Is a man who has made a name for himself
As some sort of political internet personality, who has a hidden agenda
That agenda will be revealed after the next avant gaurde musical passage
Meanwhile, Maddox
Who cried just once as a boy
He shook his head said "never again"
And his heart just turned to stone
Then Oxmad, came up to him
He said "boy, you don't have to be so glum"
"You don't have to pout or cry to feel,
When you've got love right within your soul"
Oxmad the cowboy
Was a very jolly, happy soul
He licked his lizard and his kin
And boogied till the cows came home
Oh, Oxmad the cowboy
Was alive as he could be
And the children said he laughed and played
Just the same as you and me
