Éphémère - Flying Saucers

Too many hours I've spent here
Throwing stones against your window
You only answer in my dreams
Once our home now just a house
It's quiet and indifferent
No trace of our memories
I close my eyes and see you
Blow an airkiss on the doorstep
And whisper: time to leave

And if they won't come get me in their flying saucers
I'll climb my way up to the sky
When I will board the craft I'll leave this place deserted
On empty stairs, I rise and rise
And pierce my head through the air
And scream is anyone there
To hear my call

You will find me if you're looking in the meantime
Out here in the cold

It's the last time I wander
Through this old and gentle forest
The place where we used to belong
Stays in my mind forever
As the sun drenches the woodruff
I realize you've never gone
I've seen your ghost between the trees
I've felt it envelope me
That's all I'll take along

So if they won't come get me in their flying saucers
I'll climb my way up to the sky
When I will board the craft I'll leave this place deserted
On empty stairs, I rise and rise
And pierce my head through the air
And scream is anyone there
To hear my call

You once said you only would let go of
All that cannot stay
All that cannot stay
