Word of Jah to Jonah came
To Nineveh go and proclaim against her
Evil there is on the rise
What's right is wrong what's wrong is right
But there's hope still
Jonah run away
He tried to escape
He said I ain't no Shadrach, Meschach or Abednego
I'm just Jo

Hopped a ship bound for the outer rim
The noon day sun is getting dim and the storms rage
Seas so rough they nearly died til Jonah thrown over the side
And the storms cease
But Jonah he can't swim
A great fish come up and swallow him
This weren't no mammoth salmon tuna or no yellow tail
It's a whale

And the blues rain down like hail

Belly of the beast for three nights and days
Jonah screams he cries he prays he calls out
Now I say with my final moan salvations with YHWH alone
And no other
YHWH to the whale command
Spit out that boy there on the dry land
Among the krill and swill he spill forth from the mighty jowl
He smell so foul

Word of Jah to Jonah came again
And now he walked through Nineveh proclaiming
Forty days til' you're overthrown
Word reached the king he rose from his throne declaring
And the king said Nineveh repent
Turn from our evil this God may yet relent
The went all in changed from within and Jah removed the threat
But Jo's upset

Jonah complains it's so unfair
That YHWH should choose to spare this wicked people
Thrown down on the ground and yelled just let me die
For days he stays and starts to fry when a tree grows
Jah provide Jonah shade
Then let a worm eat up what had been made
Jo sit and rant pitied the plant
But not the Ninevee
O Jo can't you see
