BOAMM - water guns

Nothing ever beat the summer suns
When we'd get bored and we'd run
Yea we pissed off most everyone
With our obsession with small water guns
Drinking water that tasted like hot plastic
Cancer was all our parents never imagined
But its clear now that we'd never do that
But yet ignorance is something we never lack
It was fun
Being young
Letting worries wash over us like water in the waves
Taking naps
Around one
Now we're working long hours wishing we had never changed
Is there anyone to blame
Jumped the rocks past our favorite creek
I fell but you were there to take care of me
Had a cast for a painful four weeks
You signed it with words nobody could read
You scribbled 18 illegible letters
You were tutored to try to get better
But I knew you, so it didn't matter
You wrote "we'll be young forever"
It was fun
Being young
Letting worries wash over us like water in the waves
Taking naps
Around one
Now we're working long hours wishing we had never changed
Are we the ones to blame
Loud nights
Dumb fights
Trying to choose who'd go first
Futile cries
And melted minds
Everyone told us it'd get worse
Well it got worse
So much worse
It was fun
Being young
Letting worries wash over us like water in the waves
Taking naps
Around one
Now we're working long hours wishing we had never changed
Wheres the fun
In leaving the young
On these nights when I've been blinded by the colors in the alcohol
Oh I used to hate alcohol
Now I'm drinking it from water guns
