enDear - Never Any Better

Sat down to write with pen and paper
Pontificating the meaning of life and such
I tore out the page
I feel like a failure
Like nothing that I can do will amount to much
I know things can get complicated
Nothing's easy when you're this jaded
Is anyone out there like me?

We want to be known

I've tried to light
These sodden ashes
In hopes that I might spark a fire left behind
But now I know
Through nights of cold
I've got to do what I can to light the one inside
You may say that none of this matters
Chin up and get back on the ladder
But I'm learning how to trust
So I guess it's time to fall

The deeper you dig there
The more you will grow
