El Guanaco - La Historia (feat. Eva)

Esta es la historia
De un Guanaco del El Salvador
Ullendo de la guerra
En los ochentas si senor
Esta es la historia
De un Guanaco del El Salvador
Ullendo de la guerra
En los ochentas si senor
I was only seven years old when I was told
We'd be leaving everything behind
And heading for the streets of gold
Some call United Snakes
Watching my cousins break
Dance headpin to windmill
1985 when shit was real
Bullets ringing in the distance
Hearing my people's resistance
On my way from school
Watching the palm trees
Sway up in the tropical sky
Just a young child didn't know why
There was a war going on
But I became aware as my life went on
Packing our bags cuz my life was in danger
Death was no stranger knocking on our door
And our only way I was to leave El Salvador
Two years after 84
Esta es la historia
De un Guanaco del El Salvador
Ullendo de la guerra
En los ochentas si senor
I remember waving goodbye
To my childhood with a tear in my eye
With family and friends gathering nearby
Give them one last look
Before we hit the friendly skies
Not knowing whether we would survive
On the journey that lay ahead
Would we end up dead?
Only god knew our destiny
If me and my family
Would make it into this country
Crossing by land through the Mexican terrain
On our way to the city of rain
Walking through the hot desert sands
My Mom with my baby bro in her hands
Risking our lives in order to survive
Was the reality of thousands that fled
The bloodshed of the warfare of the 80s
With immigrant babies
Esta es la historia
Una historia
De un Guanaco
Del Salvador
