Krissy Matthews - Grateful (Unplugged)

I was watching the world on the evening screen, everywhere terrible scenes.
Earthquakes swallowing towns, tall towers falling down.
There were people getting shot, sticking up for their rights.
Getting beat up by the cops, for not being white.
Some of us are hanging on, most of us are fine.
We've still got the sea, and quite a big piece of the sky.

You gotta be grateful for what you've got, even if it ain't a whole lot.
As long as there's the ghost of a dream in the plot.
You gotta be grateful for what you've got.

Elections in the news, I was reading, how the enemy won.
Scrapped all the love, threw it in the bin, it sure was a sin.
There were workers getting sacked, cause the bread was not enough.
For feeding all the kids, It was really looking rough.
Those of us onstage, are playing pretty well.
Cause we practice every day, and we can play like hell.

Listened to the radio, it said a bunch of us might die real soon.
Plague was raging everywhere, got no cure, they don't care.
There were ministers reading rules, said we couldn't connect.
Communications cut, and all relationships wrecked.
But a few of us got together, to man the barricades.
Trick or two to take, before we slip into the shade.
