Seven Spires - Ghost of Yesterday
Ghost of Yesterday
There is far more to a soul than its vessel,
Or so they say.
But I must play the role for which I'm chosen,
Facing judgement for all that I have made.
I would rather lose myself 'neath these watercolour skies,
And wander 'til I forget my name.
She is an illusion, a ghost, but I don't mind at all,
I'll dance with the ghost of yesterday.
Every day, it seems I'm chasing my redemption
For a life I threw away.
And had I known, I wouldn't waste a second,
But this is now, and now is far too late.
All I do is lose myself 'neath these watercolour skies,
And wander 'til I forget my name.
She is an illusion, a ghost, but I don't mind at all,
I'll dance with the ghost of yesterday.
Am I awake?
Or am I dreaming?
Day bleeds into night bleeds into day.
This body aches
But they're the ones screaming.
This is who we are, there's no escape.
