Bulletin - Woke Up

I woke up at 3am in cold sweats, dripping
Pot rotten, unsure what to make of this
Day to day, humdrum way of life getting worked to the bone
With torn flesh, I'm bleeding out and dragged back in

Sunk low, my bottom's rocked, I'm glued to nowhere
Time slows with each new pull but hardly enough
Seems like the other night I had to come home before 8
Pretend I wasn't lit and finish my plate

Who am I now? It's hard to say
Nothing gets me up these days

I'll just fall away
I can't seize the day
Excuses made for what's in my way
Dumb luck, I'll say, for good things that
Cross my path or seems to come my way

I woke up at 4am with eyes glazed over
Dry mouth, a swollen throat, and gut all shot
A quick rip then back in bed, I still have time to get Z's
A big day is coming up, the fun don't stop

Who am I to stay in
There's a holiday and people counting on my grin

I'll just fall away
I can't seize the day
Excuses made for what's in my way
Dumb luck, I'll say, for good things that
Cross my path or seem to come my way
