Forrest Wentzel - Jamestown

If they do send a ship to the moon in my lifetime
I'm gonna be ready to go
I'm gonna have my name on the waiting list
Ninety-five percent of the time
Feel the need to walk out of the room
When I hear the stories they tell
I wanna move to a town on the moon
The other 5 percent of the time
I wonder if they'd come to my town
Will they get sick of me any time soon?
Will they leave if they see me with a frown?
A cicada flies by and I think it's a hummingbird
Does that make me dumb or naive?
I try to stay positive but not optimistic
Cicadas will sleep and the hummingbirds leave
If I thought for just a few hours
I think I'd confuse myself for the day
My goals and my theories would fly out the window
And trying to save them would feel insane
On that first very long night
My moon town would be dark and scary
The black of the sky and the ground dust gray
I look at the earth and I can't help comparing
A cicada flies by and I think it's a hummingbird
Does that make me dumb or naive?
I try to stay positive but not optimistic
Cicadas will sleep and the hummingbirds leave
