I been in church for years I learned hard lessons
I wrote the rules down in to 10 sections
A neat little manuscript woman and man can get
So when you go through you won't get mad and quit
Number 1 it pains me to say
Everybody in church ain't trying to be saved
Many will come but not for the Son
And look at those that's trying to live right like they dumb
Number 2 keep your inner circle small
Cause if you tell the wrong person they may run tell it all
Number 3 this one here is underrated
Politicians and religion keep em separated
Cause politicians and Christ do not mix they can't exist
Cause both have different interest
Number 4 don't idolize your Pastor
Cause when he get the big head he'll be headed for disaster
Number 5 run from them skirts that flirt
You come to praise not court wind up in a divorce
Number 6 live for Jesus not the praise
Cause if the praise stop you'll be a mess for days
Number 7 only believe what people do
Cause folks'll say anything what they live is true
Number 8 don't let the church work you to death
They'll work your fingers past the bone till there's nothing left
Man they'll have you working more jobs than Steve Harvey
When you finish you'll be feeling all salty and not godly
Number 9 you ain't got a strong conscience
Do yourself a favor don't go to conference
Tempers get flared as folks lose religion
Then they sitting in the parking lot waiting to start hitting
Hate you like an In law treat you like an outlaw
All because you disagree about the bylaws
Number 10 learn the parable of wheat and the tares
The devil got his kids in all churches everywhere
Stay in prayer so you'll be prepared
Cause till the Lord separate us they ain't going nowhere yeah
There it is but still it ain't finished
As you keep on living you'll add some amendments
That's for real my friends I'm not kidding
So hold on to faith child of God keep defending
The gospel at all times if possible
And stay strong when folks start getting hostile
I pray God's speed for all my brethren
Hopefully we'll meet again in Heaven keep pressing
