Carter Hays - Re:generation (feat. 3P)

My journey's taken me through many paths in time
To sit back is no path of mine
I'm past passively waiting until I pass on to the other side
To clash with fate and laugh when I am terrified
I'm of the eighth generation
The last seven didn't pay attention
To the long game, babies with loaded weapons
Immaturity, eternity churns inside me, only nineteen
These young eyes only see so far behind the smoke screen
But I've seen decimated forests fight to high trees
With paw paw fruit falling at my feet when I cry deep
From lightning, dinosaurs, meteorites to human beings
This odd flourishing of life makes me believe
That I'm a realist
I know that we can heal it
I feel it in my bones and double helix
Cause I'm born of past teachers molecules
Just like a remix, yet peculiarly seasoned
I just live and that's my reason
To keep breathing
And when I stop
Lay me into the forest humus, now fully human
A consumer embraced by the universal humor
To recur to eternity in a different form, this life is absurd
Life
The journey brings all sense to the word
The struggle recurs
The stakes are assured to raise our story
To an epic poem
As we're coping through the last batch of mass produced
Opiate perfume
Cloaking opening wounds
Pain to motivate moves
Start to dissipate fumes
Visualize the view
As I procreate tunes
Of appropriate rudeness
From the Indiana dunes
In these times we're all consumed, yet liable to light the way
Back from Arachne's loom; we choose to illuminate
This one sided picture
Picture time for the last bastion of hope
After the destruction we've wrote
The basket life wove to carry and decompose
The sick dying and old and within it others grow
Outta dinosaur bones into nuclear thrones
Mother earth speaks rebirth
Like green thumbs outta tagged toes
Facing climate change is only the foreplay
Strings pulled tight finally playing full force in forte
Clear course like portrayal in 4K
Unite forked roads to feel hope for before's sake
And in relation abolish
The base of some of this hate
And replace it with knowledge
We can have it, but it'll take an about face
Of our habits, but since when have we not changed

Remove that veil from your eyes
Can you see clearly the world is capsizing
Having people living in fear
Scientists polluting the atmosphere
Sending out diseases, killing us everyday
Lock off the world
Can't get no pay
Now the people brains forever hot, forever blazing
Now the head get sick
Full of vengeance, greed and jealousy
To be honest, I don't know who to trust in this crazy world
That we're living today
Everybody seems to be a suspect in the eyes of society
If you don't believe me, then ask Corporal Vincent
If you still don't believe me, then remove that veil from your face

Using these verses to document the known universe
Think about it, make a change but be a human first
The search for knowledge, this absurd thirst
Never know what we wanted but searching wide for certain words
This is progress, the beauty of the cosmos
But along the way we lost our why
Continued to objectify and now we're left with objects
Is our consciousness benign and what are the consequences
If to create is to destroy we're launching prime offensives
When a day has too much time to wait for prime some get offended
Compromise is unrelenting
Withering columbine flowers beckon that we need repenting
Regeneration is life's response to every
Ending

The love of evil
Is like apple to the eyes
Heartless to the soul
Human being, being blinded
Jah send your cure
Jah send your cure
Jah send your cure
