Room Tree - The Line

They all formed in a line
Hands to their front, waiting for something that they could never earn
That they did not deserve
They were so selfishly complaining of the quality and how it's not enough
To maintain their high and mightiest of stature with no need to comply with
A life for a life and that feels right
Though the cost ends up paid by all of us
You'll extend a hand and one small slip of the tethered grip
Then the loosest lip brings down the ship
But, as the water rises no ones blame is lost or found

With a separating hull flooding with right or wrong
Familiar though can't sing along
Is there own advice enough to give or take a part
The fire is burning in the heart of each and every one of us tonight

They're holding on to a single reason not to play another game of pointing fingers
At everyone especially each other in their own teams
One small slip of the tethered grip
Then the loosest lip brings down the ship
But, as the water rises no ones blame is lost or found

With a separating hull flooding with right or wrong
Familiar though can't sing along
Is there own advice enough to give or take a part
The fire is burning in the heart of each and every one of us tonight

Carved writings on the wall words forming a long bridge
Each step warns of a fall I just couldn't read the language
Carved writings on the wall

They're needing a lot and I'm becoming something that I'm not
We've already seen shame on you once

Besides the same of subduing your sheath of lies
The world will start to see shadows creep alive and all the while
I am bleeding dry with an undiscovered leaking heart

I'm bleeding a lot
I'm becoming something that I'm not
I've already seen shame on you once

Besides the same of subduing your sheath of lies

The line eventually died down
They're sense of fulfillment was all left to be found
With all of their woes left tossed carelessly to the ground
I picked them all up and saw a line when I turned around
I'm holding on
