Eamonn Flynn - Ringsend Balcony Bingo

In Liguria they sing from the balconies
Arias that set the spirit free
Stars that tremble with love and hope
And melodies so sweet they'd scandalize the Pope
Down in Canon Mooney Garden flats
With white suits and gloves and N95 masks
They're calling numbers through an old P.A
In the bitter Ringsend cold
On a dreary Dublin day

They say: Two fat ladies, 88
Lucky 7, red raw and garden gate
Legs 11 and goodbye teens
Doctors orders, one dozen, dancing queen
When you have nowhere to go
Play some Ringsend Balcony Bingo

Cross over the Samuel Beckett Bridge
Down Sir John Rogerson's Quay to Pembroke Cottages
Past St. Patricks and down by Fluffy Mutts
Where the sound of bingo calls stops them all from going nuts
Mrs. Duggan with her hair so blue
And a pit bull/ whippet mix that looks like a kangaroo
And the kids going spare from being stuck inside
And the swings on the South Lotts playground, motionless and quiet

Two fat ladies etc...
