John Joseph Ray - Someplace

I walked 300 miles down to West Virginia
My pockets they were empty and it was real cold outside
The catfish fried up nice but it didn’t last too long
I got a job in a restaurant in Harper’s Ferry town

Ohhh, there’s someplace I was going to – Destination unclear
I don’t know what I’m looking for – Maybe I’ll find it here

I headed on to Maryland to lift myself from poverty
I nearly froze in that cardboard house I was sinking further down
Flipping burgers and driving vans and fixing German engines
I worked any job that came my way but I never stuck around

Ohhh, there’s someplace I was going to – Destination unclear
I don’t know what I’m looking for – Maybe I’ll find it here

A job’s a job – you know they’re all the same – I get restless so fast
At the start they seem like an answered dream
But the illusion it don’t last

I made a lot of money at the travel-trailer factory
I lost some blood and some peace of mind but I paid all of my bills
I moved back up to my home town for the easy life at school again
When I was done, I was movin’ on I was climbin’ the next hill

Ohhh, there’s someplace I was going to – Destination unclear
I don’t know what I’m looking for – Maybe I’ll find it here
Maybe I’ll find - Maybe I’ll find - Maybe I’ll find it here
