James Barrett - November
I clock in on the machine every morning
And say hello to the A.M team
And LCD Sound-system blares from the deli
As she waits and waits and waits
For someone, something, or some space
And I wait
For our lives to regenerate
And branch out of this place
And be somewhere we want to be
Not this non-fiction real life purgatory
That we're both stuck in it seems
So we get high to pass the time we spend eager to feel alive
Wes is out west now
And every evening there's an emptiness inside this house
But Three Man still spins from the corner of this room
As Ty and I wait and wait and wait
For some change
For some presence to sustain
And I wait
For our hope to rejuvenate
For simplistic days to feel ok
Be content where we fall asleep
Not dread the sun trying to gift us a better week
But I can take any pain
So we get by aging everyday
Inching us towards a better life
Snow lightly blankets the ground
The earth is silent
Absorbing all the suburban sounds
I reflect back to every winter spent with you
As my soul waits and waits and waits
For our hearts to intertwine forever in place
And I wait
