Multiversal Julez - Iron Lungs

Times are changing on every beat that I write
As the days run smooth and I sleep at night
Aware of the strangest threat that might
Even dare to strike but I'll probably be alright
My fingers would twitch when I craved a pint
Or a pill on the strip, aiming my sight
On a blistering wind that was twisting me tight
But If I would have binged I'd have been missing the fight
Against all glitches that were never expected
In the fingers and toes that the virus selected
Victims to injure completely unprotected
From atrocities committed against the infected
Innocent children that the virus selected
Polio would paralyse one or both legs affected
Imminent threat it's when politicians slept in
That-the virus had-another, chance it could have crept in

Making legs start feeling weak
People are stumbling over I speak
Of hundreds even thousands per week
Of people tales that have turned bleak
Families getting crippled to their knees
Tragedies count up, the killer's in the breeze
People out of work, a squeeze on their means
Factories building metal machines
For those that feel their lungs won't inflate
So many struggling to breathe and take
The air we need at resting rate
Scientists trying to investigate
A clear way out as nations getting handicapped
Weaponising science an army manned with fact
Creeping up the nerves of those that couldn't hit back
If polio was an MC this would be a diss track

We make plans when an outbreak takes action
It's a normal natural reaction
Only when mass isolation takes traction
That cases and deaths are reduced by a fraction
In Space there's so much to explore
We'll always find a way to be discovering more
Supermassive black holes absorbing meteors
Check the facts can they defeat yours?
It's the question essential for science
Check the credentials, check the reliance
Can you trust the numbers when you're looking to be tying
The events with the rates of infection we're trying
To explore truth then seek solutions
When I'm not in the lab you'll find me in the booth and
If I am I'll shell out lyrics if I'm not I'll be proofing
The data from biology and mix a new thing

Into the science and anatomy I learnt
In a calamity a thunder burnt
Indigenous humanity, blundered and hurt
A religious sanity suffered and earnt
A name of hope that human flesh
Might be spared from looming death
Increasing counts of sick man fresh
New Spike hits hard in Bangladesh
As cities get flooded sewers overflow
Cholera's killing and so's polio
People getting hungry cause the crops don't grow
Thousands leave the only city they know
