Scxtt Aye - Petals

Yea
In the loneliest part of my mind
Covered in moss and overgrown foliage
There's a cathedral that only we know of
Where only we go
Here, the tears speak on our behalf
Where each drop that falls from our lash
Is louder than the largest bell
Where our whispered prayers bounce off stained glass
And the angels relay them to Heaven
Where even the slightest thought is heard by God
Two way celestial conversations
With no time to rehearse or reverse
What was said
Was said
An elegy was written
Dedicated to every last drop of loss felt
Every double cross and lie told
No detail left behind
You bared it all
But that was yesterday
Today, these moon-like phases
Like epic poetry, outline highs and lows
Reinvention is on the horizon
Metamorphosis of the psyche
It's likely you'd get past yourself and the burdens you carry
Once you realize that what you lack
Is what makes you whole
In the cathedral covered in vines
In the loneliest corner of my mind
We begin to pray
Let's bow our heads
Father pls forgive me for my flaws
I was carved from stones thrown my way
At times I wallow in my imperfections
And get lost in all the misdirection
Drowning in oceans of grief
Tentacles of despair reach up to drag me down
Yelling as loud as I can to see if anyone can hear the sound
But heart ache is quiet like a perishing flower
No ones ever around to hear the petals hit the ground
Amen
A poet once said
That light shines through
All the cracks in your soul
There was no lie told
You're perfect in your imperfection
In all misdirection
And after every indiscretion
So you can come back home
