The Zeke - That Small Town
I'm floating through time in the clouds of my memory
I can see although I've been so blind
All the sights and sounds and fury that surrounded me
And all the ones... I left so far behind
My mind slowly walks me down the streets I ruled and ran around
I think of all the friends and family I had when I was young
I hardly recognize it... by looking at it now
But that was my hometown... where I once belonged
And there's times when I miss that small town
I couldn't even guess... how far I've traveled
Or when it was starting to unravel
I'm troubled now while trying to remember
Leaving so much out unthought and unsaid
I'm left with these insistent persistent memories
About that small town I left so far behind
It's hard to reconcile the time that's gone now
So much water under bridges that I've burned
I still see us on the streets where we used to ramble
But now I fear I've lost much more than I have learned
My mind slowly walks me down the streets I ruled and ran around
I think of all the friends and family I had when I was young
I hardly recognize it by looking at it now
That was my hometown... where I once belonged
But I am never going back to that small town
