Adam Barnes - Missed Connection

Missed Connection
From the back of the room I saw you there
Standing alone with your long brown hair
Eyes looking like the deepest sea
And suddenly they looked at me
For a moment time stood still
you covered the distance from the window sill
In my head words rushed around
when I opened my mouth nothing came out
What music played, in the background of the room
what was the day, the hour, the minute too
I wish you stayed, causing you’re leaving far to soon
So far away, but always in view
At night I think of you
Do you think of me too
I guess I didn’t catch her name
she had no phone, no online fame
She liked to write short poetry
Draw buildings that grew on her street
So we saw the morning in
Greeted the rays that sun did bring
out the door, the empty street
She turned to me and kissed my cheek
What music played, in the background of the room
what was the day, the hour, the minute too
i wish we stayed, causing you’re leaving far to soon
So far away, but always in view
At night I think of you
Do you think of me too
