Charles Dexter Ward - Black Magic Disease

Wizard contemplating over his long life
Wondering what to do at the coming of his plight
He comes to the decision to cower from gods light
By achieving eternal life through unholy rites
Alchemy as his tool
To bend fate to his whim
Death kept at bay
Eternity in his hands
And the years go by
And knowledge he gains
And all die around him
And he hides away
Centuries turn into eons
Civilizations rise and fall away
Into infinity he goes
Now facing a dying world alone
The earth dies in the supernova
In blackness he resides still alive
Choking and freezing in the dark
The inevitable heat death encroaching
Burning in the ambient blaze
Still in complete darkness
Tens of thousands of years of suffering
Or is it millions?
Is there time at all?
No, he only suffers on
