REAMES - In Jesus' Name

They came with arms wide open
and a deceptive smile
Into a land unspoiled
By their greed and lies
They brought their swords and trumpets
Upon their ships of war
Native cries rang warnings
Behind their paints of war
"They're coming! They're coming!
They're coming, I fear.
They're landing! They're landing!
They're landing, they're here!"
An unfettered slaughter
A brutal rape of land
Murdered the sons and daughters
Of a peaceful Man
Disease and Starvation
Became a way of life
The arrows all lay broken
Next to their hunting knives
An unfettered slaughter
From an unknown land
Arriving from the ocean
To enslave all of Man
And as the weeping grew
and devastation reigned
The clergy held their hands and sang,
"In Jesus' Name...."
After they were conquered
Brutalized and maimed
The occupiers weren't content
With the devastation reigned
They turned their sights to Culture
Which, for millennia thrived
The last victory to enslave
Their very minds
A peaceful, once proud nation
Reduced to dust and ash
Their land was plundered
Like an addict to a stash
And now they sit in squalor
While freedom rings
Historic cultures don't stand a chance
In Jesus' Name
He's coming.
He's coming.
He's coming.
He's coming back.
He's coming.
He's coming.
He's coming.
He's here!
An unfettered slaughter
A brutal rape of land
Murdered the sons and daughters
Of a peaceful Man
Disease and Starvation
Became a way of life
The arrows all lay broken
Next to their hunting knives
An unfettered slaughter
From an unknown land
Arriving from the ocean
To enslave all of Man
And as the weeping grew
and devastation reigned
The clergy held their hands and sang,
"In Jesus' Name...."
