De Le' Bouch El' - Asunder

Day of vengeance
Impressionable youth
Rebel wisdom cried out
Naive are the aged
Decrepitly hardened
Address the public
From the parent to children
From our home to the school to the white house
Media consenting by shows after the news
Pain plus rage equaled a solution to end lives
Patsies of mental health and behavioral issues
Thoughts griped with hostility
Emotions pent up exploding
We turn ours into making peace
Congregations beg religion to be enough
Communities push activism
Government is bondage in litigation for prohibitions
Forgotten our security of the power of relationships
Distracted by many vain issues
What do we believe?
What do you live for?
What do you value?
Do we agree on love?
Two paths split in the heart
Goodness and evil
Love and hate
Gift and sacrifice
Mercy and retaliation
Life and death
We eat the fish with beaks and talons of a two-headed eagle
Feed our dove and starve our serpent
Or vice versa with verses of vice
Are we shouting praise
And whispering prayers
With evil intentions
The fall before pride
Humbling of the self-exalted
Pastors, Elders, Politicians
For the sake of your own humanity carry preemptive love
Our hearts have torn asunder beyond a celebration
We cannot sweep the blood under the carpet
Hear crying
One hears to listen
A voice of the past echoing for death
One hears to listen
A voice of the future calling for life
Give over to bear pain
Shoulder struggle
We don't have to live here
We wouldn't be here if we were moved in our heart
Do you care?
Prove it
Is your gut ripped open with violent compassion?
Save your prayers, thoughts, vibes, and mantras
Let your sternum be cracked open
And rib cage be torn side to side
Give your heart!
Go participate among misfortune
While genuinely devastated
Unfortunately, desensitized
And expected all over again unless
In hope
We will
Be salt and light
