Bobby Blaze - Roses For Roselyn

The day I recorded this it rained real hard
But when I stepped up to the mic the sun came in bright through the window
It reminded me that even in our darkest days the Lord still shines His love

I got some roses for Roselyn mixed with a couple magnolias
Teardrops from my pen while I write this here for you
I swear home has gotten colder without your warm smile
Looking at your picture wishing you were here now
Don't know how to feel now while I'm still wiping tears
I'm just a motherless child for the rest of my years
It still gives me the chills when I see you in my dream
I know you just went home and you're hearing angels sing
It's a difficult thing to not see you at all
Wishing I could pick up the phone and give you a call
To say goodbye to your mom, nobody's ever ready
The day your soul would fly was the day that mine got heavy
I'm still feeling weary, God help me through the rain
Since you went away things ain't never been the same
All I can do is pray, with tears still rolling
Take a ride to your grave with roses for Roselyn

Lord knows it's hard to let go, When we lose such a beautiful soul
It's hard feeling lost in the cold, But I know that you're home with the Lord

Heavenly Father, why'd you have to take my momma
I close my eyes and visualize on days when I was younger
I know the Lord giveth and He taketh away
And I'll see you one day but until then I will pray
Then I heard the Lord say it was just her time to fly
Still hard to mourn when you're feeling left behind
The sun will still shine even though the night is dark
But I'm still feeling like I lost a part of my heart
I still don't know where to start, I never been here before
Even though I know there's no right or wrong way to mourn
I'm so sorry mom, you're gone too soon
Feeling like I'm still in shock while I'm sitting in my room
We'll see you real soon, but all in God's time
So until then Father let your light shine
Precious memories of mine I will keep holding
While I wipe away my tears with these roses for Roselyn

Lord knows it's hard to let go, When we lose such a beautiful soul
It's hard feeling lost in the cold, But I know that you're home with the Lord

Dear momma I'm a stay strong while the world's wild
Thinking about the day I told you I'm a rapper now
It's like you held the family down through the thick and thin
When you said I would slip and fall get right back up again
Never thought it be the end when I helped you off to bed
The last time I saw you keeps on playing in my head
But you're with the Lord instead, Jesus opened up His arms
At the mansion in the sky while you sing angelic songs
I still miss you mom, and I always will
And that's as certain as the church is the light upon the hill
As long as we still here, we going to stay serving Christ
Until we lay it down and then get caught up in the sky
It's still okay to cry and I know we're still hurting
When she saw Jesus I bet He said well done my faithful servant
Tomorrow's never certain as today is still unfolding
So we'll decorate your grave with these roses for Roselyn

Lord knows it's hard to let go, When we lose such a beautiful soul
It's hard feeling lost in the cold, But I know that you're home with the Lord

They say there's no scars in heaven, except on the hands that hold you
That means there's no wheelchairs, no tears and no pain
Miss you mom
