TurtleFrogMan - Billy the Headless Boy Who Lived In Our Attic

Parenting is difficult, it's been that way forever
Ever since we roamed the plains of Africa in tribes
If you don't wish to be violent then you must learn how to be clever
You get your children to behave with tricks or threats or bribes

We're working couple with two little girls both quite precocious
So I had this idea, just like Santa Clause but more demented
And you may think it wrong to tell them something so atrocious
But I sat our two girls down and shared this tale I invented

"A family once lived here and their boy was very naughty
I don't want to scare you girls but you should know the facts
I'll spare you all the details but they never found his body
Billy's father chopped his own son's head off with an ax."

Billy was a Headless Boy Who Lived Up in our Attic
Our girls were scared of Billy they were downright terrified
Anytime they misbehaved or gave their mother static
We'd say "Billy doesn't like that" and they'd run upstairs and hide.

Now, some may think this parenting technique a vicious joke
And I hope I didn't cause our girls a lifetime of distress
But this story about headless Billy was a genius master stroke
Their behavior was improved and you can't argue with success

Our girls bickered with their mother and like all girls were dramatic
And when I heard the squabble starting, their attention I diverted
I'd say "what was that?" "did you hear that?" "its coming from the attic?"
And they'd run upstairs and hide another crisis thus averted

Billy was a Headless Boy Who Lived Up in our Attic.
Our girls were scared of Billy they were downright terrified
Anytime they misbehaved or gave their mother static
We'd say "Billy doesn't like that" and they'd run upstairs and hide.

Our girls have grown and headless Billy haunts us no more sadly
Our girls are having children of their own and we're ecstatic!
If our grandkids come to visit and they start behaving badly
Maybe headless Billy will return to haunt our attic

Billy was a Headless Boy Who Lived Up in our Attic
Our girls were scared of Billy they were downright terrified
Anytime they misbehaved or gave their mother static
We'd say "Billy doesn't like that" and they'd run upstairs and hide
