Born and raised in the Catholic faith
But I became a lukewarm Catholic
Slowly slipping away

From the things you be doing
Outside the Church and the throne
I know some things weren't emphasized
In the days you were catechized
But don't criticize the teacher
Just cuz you weren't satisfied
With all of the teachings
Passed down from the Lord Jesus Christ
Passed down from the apostles
And from the popes throughout time
Some of you say these teachings are old
And out of date in this age
But do your history and see
They still apply to this day yeah

Now what's a lukewarm Catholic
And is that really you
Now let's take it one by one
And evaluate what you do
A lukewarm Catholic is the one
Who goes to church out of habit
And doesn't pray often enough
Unless something tragically happens
They see no problem missing Mass
Don't see Christ present in the Eucharist
Or when they commit mortal sin
They're still receiving communion
They're in support of abortion
Or even use contraceptives
Nor see a problem with sexual relations
Outside of marriage
They find it difficult and challenging
Defending the Church
Because of laziness and lacking
The desire to learn
Unaware a mortal sin is
Disobeying a commandment
So if any of these apply to you
Then come back and repent it

You say enough with this talk
Because the Church likes to judge
As long as I believe in Jesus Christ
Then that's more than enough
But faith is the starting point
But without works it's dead

To hear what Jesus had said
So if you're gonna go and call yourself
A Catholic Christian
Then understand the Church's teachings
And its passed down Tradition
Quit being a cafeteria Catholic
Picking and choosing what's right
Stand up for your faith
The Truth and start living right
If you call yourself a Catholic
Than go and do so with love
And treat your fellow Christians
With that love from above
No, I'm not here to judge man
I'm just proclaiming the Truth
Trying to end the lukewarm lifestyle

Misrepresenting the Church
And the secular media's

Thinks we can never get it straight
They're poorly educated sheep

And you truly believe in Him
Return to the Church
And come back to communion
