Jim Wolfe, Marlin James and John Morton - Why I Love Kentucky

I was reading in a book I found
About a life of spirit
Consciousness is peace - it said
Be still and you can hear it

Contentment and enormous joy
You just have to surrender
But I'm already spirit filled
Thanks to my bartender

This is my favorite bar
I'm happy and I'm lucky
It's the Spirit of America
That's why I love Kentucky

I love Kentucky bourbon
No matter what the season
Best whiskey in the world
Let me count the reasons:
There's Maker's Mark, Old Forester
Jim Beam and Old Grand Dad
Wild Turkey, Early Times
Best 'shine you ever had
Four Roses, Knob Creek
Rebel Yell and Devil John
Let's drink to Kentucky
All night long

I searched throughout the world
Tried Caribbean rum
Tequila down in Mexico
And sake with a plum

Drank Smirnoff once in Moscow
And Ouzo down in Greece
Had too much gin in London town
Still searching for that peace

The world is a great big place
There's spirit's everywhere
But bourbon from Kentucky
Is the answer to my prayer

This is my favorite bar
I'm happy and I'm lucky
That's why I love Kentucky
That's why I love Kentucky
That's why I love Kentucky
