Dave Preston - Garidi Rocks

They rode down from the mountains
Underneath that cobalt sky
Scattered snow lay on the ground
They could hear the eagles cry
The band of horsemen crossed the steppes
Till they came to Buckskin Hill
Climbed up high to swear an oath
As the wind blew down a chill

Come my brother outlaws
It's time for us to go
We gotta a thousand miles hard riding
Before the winter snow
Come my brother outlaws
We've got to ride like the wind
Gotta find the King's fine horses
That's the prize we're gonna to win

They travelled on into the east
To take back what they owned
They stole a hundred horses
Then turned their heads for home
They drove that mob of horses
Till their skin was dark with sweat
The oath burned deep inside their hearts
It let none of them forget

Come my brother outlaws
It's time for us to go
We gotta a thousand miles hard riding
Before the winter snow
Come my brother outlaws
We've got to ride like the wind
We've got to wheel these horses homeward
That's the prize we're gonna to win

Through days and nights they travelled on
Until they came across
A place where they could rest their bones
Safe among the rocks
The muffled sound of horses hooves
Echoed all around
That night they hid in the Garidi rocks
And slept on cold hard ground

Come my brother outlaws
It's time for us to go
We gotta a thousand miles hard riding
Before the winter snow
Come my brother outlaws
We've got to ride like the wind
We've got to take these horses westward
That's the prize we're gonna to win
