Anthony Cameron - Peace (Interlude)

Yeah, I'd just rather be left alone most of the time
People be drainin' my energy all the time
I'm lookin' for an escape, this blunt gon' help
While I write these words, late nights by myself
A lot of time alone means a lot of self reflection
And those are the first steps in the right direction
That's when you begin the process of correcting
Any bad habits, we all gotta learn a lesson
At times, I get ahead of myself, I'm still perfecting
My style, my mindset and my perspective
But shit, I feel alienated
Because my daily arrangement
Revolves only around the music, nothin' else
Minimal time to socialize, my mind's on something else:
The bigger picture, I'm waitin' for it to clear up
And as the time goes, it only gets clearer
Who the fuck I am and what I'm meant to do
I've been slept on my whole life, who the fuck woulda knew?
Took me a long time to see the truth in this:
Never too late to make room for improvements
Play that shit back

I've been workin' on myself
Self improvement on the daily
Life been testin' my mental health
But, all this shit done made me
Who I am today, you'd never recognize me
The light been so bright, it almost blinded me
It's all about perception, listen to your heart
Don't forget about your brain, pick it apart
Lookin' for a scapegoat to put the blame on
When come to find out it was you all along
Creatin' the scenario of failure in your mind
I used to do the same and that's why I didn't get mine
My negative thoughts were manifesting themselves
It wasn't doing me no well
I was livin' in hell
It's really a mental state, not a physical realm
But through my art is where I've found
Peace
