You think you understand who I am
Think about it
I mask day to day what I feel
And so I doubt it
I rather not advertise the hurt
And so it's shrouded
It's killing me inside it's catching up
So it's clouded

Peel back the layers
Catch glimpses of abandonment
It's not till later
Even understand what that meant
It's manifested in a strong need to attach
Misunderstood for that reason so I finish last

I stay up and I think too much

Chasing those who don't care if I exist

All this just to feel inadequate

For myself acceptance is the one thing
