East Street - Criminal Victim

Jimmy is looking up
Over a messy table
There in his living room
He has been sleeping
Out on the couch again
Waking up aching
Food leftovers, overfull ashtray
And everywhere a mess
Notes about the case, the investigation
And soon the conclusion
To the crime is there
Jimmy is freshening up
He takes a shower
Comes out smelling really good
Starts some cleaning, first of the table
And all other mess goes soon away
Then it's time to sum things up
Deal with the case
That made him so weak
Find out who's the killer
The criminal bad guy
In the notes he dives
She's been beaten and beaten
'Til she had enough
The poison was there and
She thought it was luck
She used it a lot
To be really sure of success
Now she is the criminal
A victim to crime herself
So Jimmy's notes says
There is no mistake
She did it and planned it out
After being beaten much
After being abused a lot
She went ahead and killed him off
Now the system will deal with her
As the bad guy and give her hell
But the system will see the picture
Of her years there in horror with him
Yes, Jimmy will make it clear
To the court and all
That she was forced to do it
To get out and get clear
She had no choice, it was so set
Now she should not
Have to break a sweat
In court they took it into account
And made a sentence
That was based on the situation
She got some time in jail
She got a lean sentence
And her time abused
Were taken into account
She's been beaten and beaten
'Til she had enough
The poison was there
And she thought it was luck
She used it a lot
To be really sure of success
Now she is the criminal
A victim to crime herself
