Tanner Shimp - 1:11

Eyes feeling heavy on a summer night
Comfortably watching the absence of light
I hear a small tick, it will not back down
So I raise myself up and take a look around
It's the works of my watch on the window sill
Showing me that the world can sit still
I open the window and breath in the air
Flooding my senses, I'm suddenly aware

It's 1:11, when the time pours slow
There's nothing to do and nowhere to go
Surrounded by quiet and darkness as well
All I can hear is the crickets' soft spell
And all I can see is a landscape of lights
Absorbing my vision with wonderful sights
I know this escape is a fleeting release
But for one simple moment I can feel at peace

My chest is heavy too, but in a good way
Like I'm blanketed up by the sky filled with grey
Invisible hands say the bed is my friend
But I never want this good feeling to end
It isn't nostalgia, the memories ain't mine
But ones that I've made to suit my design
Like dreams filled with unfathomable emotion
This time of night is a remarkable potion

It's 1:11, when the time pours slow
There's nothing to do and nowhere to go
Surrounded by quiet and darkness as well
All I can hear is the crickets' soft spell
And all I can see is the landscape of lights
Absorbing my vision with wonderful sights
I know this escape is a fleeting release
But for one simple moment I can feel at peace

The invisible hands grow stronger with time
Pulling me away from feeling sublime
Still feeling peaceful, I decide to give in
For I can just do it all next night again

It's 1:11, when the time pours slow
There's nothing to do and nowhere to go
Surrounded by quiet and darkness as well
All I can hear is the crickets' soft spell
And all I can see is the landscape of lights
Absorbing my vision with wonderful sights
I know this escape is a fleeting release
But for one simple moment I can feel at peace
