NoiseArt Collective - 100 Words

It began with the change to the liquor laws
All those years ago
Sorry sir, you've had too much
I can't sell you another drink

Stores installed body mass index scanners
That was how people like me made a quick dollar
Doing leg lengthening procedures
For sugar junkies to fill the scanners for a time
It couldn't last
The scanners improved

The scanners improved
The backyard operations dried up
And so did the flow of cash
And thus my means of servicing my debts
That's how it began
And in this alley
I'm about to find out how it ends
