Gregory - A New Degree of Freedom

If you are aware of this
And you can intervene
Then why do you not?

We have each lived, loved, and lost
Through conversion or conquest
We have honed the science of eloquence
Methods with a cost

Vociferous and effusive
Assiduous at the core
Such a vapid thing to relay
That you have discovered
Your Heaven has no need of me anymore

Like figs out of season (Mark 11:12)
I've a New Degree of Freedom

I was just a Natural Philosopher
Yielding to your dreams
Encircled by Causality
And relishing extremes

I was an apple for the taking
Through subjective validation
From the branches you were shaking I fell
Not by gravitation, but in the wake of your love

"...in secret, have I said nothing." - Jesus (John 18:20)

If you are aware of this
And you can intervene
Then I'm praying for guidance
In our New Degree of Freedom

Intrinsic contrition
Mimicking intelligence
When all the time it was just
Simple common sense

My relevance vitiated
Through banality and blame
Patently cogent
That nothing will remain

Through this emotional arbitrage
I was waxing eloquent
A Renormalization
I had believed that you were Heaven sent
My reality deceived
Conflating fallacious idioms
I will attenuate my need to believe

The atrophy of imagination
Propitiating in vain
Taming Infinities
In our New Degree of Freedom

If you are aware of this
And you can intervene
Then why do you not?

A whole new set of revelations
Diverging emotional idioms
Much like a Liquid Scintillation
We have a New Degree of Freedom

If you are aware of this
And you can intervene
Then why do you not?
