Preoccupations - Advisor

Put in my place,
I can’t stand the way it tastes.
Can’t seem to find the brake.
Before it all goes speeding off underwhelmed,
straight into hell.

Bodies collapsing,
crestfallen, off the map.
Tell me where here is.
It’s safe to say that today’s gone to waste
in my own perfect personal hell.

I have no strength to operate while under,
this shadow of morality.

The only time that i can tell
has sliced right through our echoed footsteps
without resonating.

The sunset seeps and separates,
and I can’t play back these saturated tapes.

To say the least, it’s bittersweet
to navigate through crowsfeet canyons
without hesitating.

Cover it in fire,
watch it turn into ash.
Put it into a box.
Smash it into the rocks.

Steeped in eternal optimism,
the splinters are buried deep within.
I don’t have the goddamned mechanism,
to dig them up out of my naked skin.

Cover it in fire,
watch it turn into ash.
Put it into a box.
Smash it into the rocks.
