Greg Bohemen - Another Day, Another Dollar
It's a beautiful summer morning, no one can deny
The sun is glowing brightly, just glistening in the sky
The flowers are slowly growing in the horizon as I stare
The crops are also present, for those observant enough to care
The sun's putting up a test by displaying it's scorching fire
I'll embrace this nice warm hug, in the lake, as I retire
On a cloudless day as such, only one thing left to say
Come on, get up, off the couch and come enjoy this precious day
Oh yea, time keeps moving on
I wake up the next day, a few more years under my sleeve
The alarm clock sits there crying, begging me to start my routine
I gaze out of the window and see kids playing outside
Suddenly emerge from my day dream, back to work, to feed my pride
I'm satisfied to be here, don't know what I'd do instead
I'd feel guilty if I were at home, even worse if I were in bed
I'm content with what I have, a job's a job, that's nothing new
But when you're not doing what you love, kind of hard to love what you do
Don't kid yourself
Are you really happy
The leaves are slowly changing, it's the time of year I guess
The farmer sits there smiling at another year's success
The corn will soon be chopped and the fields will soon be clear
That morning chill down my spine proves that autumn is quite near
There goes another year
When I look in retrospect, I try to see what I've done
Summer came and went so fast, feels like I missed the starting gun
Another day was lost, forgetting this is hard to pretend
Another dollar in my pocket, am I happier in the end
An honest day's work for an honest day's pay
What more can you ask for
Another day was lost, forgetting this is hard to pretend
Another dollar in my pocket, am I happier in the end
