I wish better meant

Not just
Not as bad as before

I'm not weighing myself daily
Or measuring my body fat
Seeing if my waist is getting any smaller
Or looking at old pictures to compare the shape of my face

But I still pinch at the extra skin
That folds over when I'm sitting
I still walk past every mirror
To see how apparent my flaws are
I still contemplate too much
If I've really earned something sweet
I still try to convince myself
That I chew gum for any other reason than to convince myself not to eat

But I also focus on my training
And get stronger each week
I eat food when I'm hungry
And don't always cry afterward

So, I'm better than I was before
But better
Doesn't mean

And I still struggle
Everyday
