Jamie Paul - Bloom

I've been trying for so many years to write the perfect tune
I'm not even sure the perfect song exists
But if it does I hope it turns up soon
The only company I keep is my guitar that I play in my room
Inspiration often starts to grow but doesn't always bloom
It doesn't always bloom

And if you think about it
There's not much that I can do about it
Look how long it takes the tree to grow
Good things come to those who wait you know
And if you want to make perfume
You know you have to wait until the flowers bloom

I've been trying for so many years to write the perfect song
I never thought that after thirty years
I'd still be here and struggling on
I suppose I should be proud
That me and my guitar have played here for so long
In an ever-changing world where it is hard enough to just stay strong
Where it's hard to bloom
