Alec James Payton - Calm the Storm

There was once a girl on a path that did cross mine
On one hand it seemed like a moment, the other a lifetime
One fresh as the concords
The other aged like wine
She came in with the thunder - left without a sound
I wondered where she was leaving to and where she's headed now
A force that calmed the storming
Dark locks falling down
The rain came back to conquer the land the sun once dried
Seized the hills' hard contour and filled the valleys wide
I tried to keep my balance
Control my weaker side
The sky that warned of her nearing - that's a sky that's clear no more
Left hiding from the weather and fought so hard I'm sore
I ran out into the storming
Until I feared no more
High the stars are swollen above the breathless sky
The winds and raining settled among the leveled pines
I sat and wrote an epitaph
For a life I left behind
And for the love she still had with her
As she went on out of sight
