Janie Worm - Camp Nor'wester
Up on Johns Island in the ole San Juans,
is Camp Nor'wester, our second home.
Its history is rich and community growing.
In the spirit of giving, I'll tell you some more.
Traditions long shared from the North Native Peoples,
celebrate life and its sacred thread.
Join hands in the big house for this great journey.
We carry all forward with each step we tread.
One thing I know is it's steady as she goes.
Two is a team, and three times a charm.
Four directions inform while five fingers perform.
Your six senses will guide you seven summers 'round.
Fresh air, and warm rain, skin touched by sunlight,
nourish the body and comfort the soul.
The earth gives her fruit to us, the deer, and the eagle.
Thanks to all beings who share this sweet home.
We've got sailing and biking, high ropes in the forest;
kayaks and hiking, tents and teepees.
There's art, dance and drama; music sung daily.
There's something for everyone, just wait and see.
One thing I know is it's steady as she goes.
Two is a team, and three times a charm.
Four directions inform while five fingers perform.
Your six senses will guide you seven summers 'round.
Through good, honest work, friendships and laughter,
we gain in our confidence, memories and songs.
With teamwork and love, and your imagination,
you have all you need to face life when you're gone.
When the summer is over and we push off her shores,
Nor'wester lives on in hearts beat-ing.
We'll come back again, oh yeah, many times more,
our hearts ever changed in this meeting.
One thing I know is it's steady as she goes.
Two is a team, and three times a charm.
Four directions inform while five fingers perform.
Your six senses will guide you seven summers 'round.
See you at Nor'wester next time around........
