Jimi Priceless - Carpe Diem

Carpe diem, making every single last
It takes two to tango and now I am scared to dance
You might not see the vision in my last line
But you’ll get the picture by the time you hear my last rhymes
Whether things get better or you end up not with me
As a disclaimer, I wrote this just after Halloween
No mask and I’m ‘bout to take the gloves off
We were on top, I put us above all
Yeah, I fell hard so I’m getting down with the words now
You were great company, a large part of me hopes it works out
But I got pushed away, pushed straight to the edge
I give no apologies but I’m not tryna take revenge
I’m not being extra, I just don’t want any words unsaid
It’s been keeping me up at night, I hope this puts it to bed
They sleeping on me, but it’s carpe diem
‘Til I’m a dead poet, rest in peace to Robin Williams
If they try to bury me, that’s a grave mistake
And they best not try to make up, thinkin’ that they saving face
Yeah, I took it deep, they already know the drill
Right now, I’m feeling triggered so I’m going for the kill
Never always kept my cool but you can bet I kept it real
Had to bring it to light, I’m shining harder than emeralds
But the game was new to me I didn’t know all of the rules
So, I’m not ashamed to say that I spent 2K on those jewels
Things ain’t set in stone like earrings with a matching necklace
Put in so much time and effort too, I was so invested
Gave all of mine, I put in time, oh yeah, I really tried
So, know if I leave this behind, I won’t feel bad inside
No remorse, parents divorced so I know how to pick a side
That’s why I am choosing me, I’m putting nothing above I
I just had to clear the air because my mind was clouded
They cannot box me in because I’m so well rounded
And I let things slide way too many times to count it
So I’ma take the blame because I allowed it
I live my truth, so therefore I must also rhyme it
Money can’t buy love, hope I don’t pay the price for tryin’
I was just tryna be the hero all the time
Went through pain like Bruce Wayne, the way that alley left me traumatized
But there were good times that I can’t forget
But on the other side, I got burnt like I’m Harvey Dent
Gotta hear both sides and that’s word to the Bodega Boys
But it’s been so long since the last time I heard your voice
So, there’s still pain, but I’m not pill popping
Not tryna hurt your feelings, but this is just my process
And there’s the chance you might not even hear these lyrics
But just in case you do, are you still busy?
