Artist in Progress - Circus Circumstances

Stitched tricks are what's left of your attempts
They got smashed by elephants
Now, off you go, amuse yourself
Illuse yourself
There's no one else
Around for your magic tricks
The ones that are written on the bricks
No one cares for your masquerade
You're still just one and played

Along with the herd
You won't ever be heard
And although you're in charge of the circus march
You've found yourself in circus trance

Taught by only charlatans
A crystal ball appeared vacant
The cosmos juggles with your luggage
Living circus circumstances
The jester's desperate laughter echoed
Fortune tellers got diagnosed
Comedians sans audience
Acrobats sans elegance

Contortions that leave your back breaking
Keep at it till your whole body's aching
Now show them all, abuse yourself
To prove yourself
Though no-one else will be

Around for your leaps of faith
Teetering on the rope of fate
Your safety net's been burned
But nothing will be learned

Taught by only charlatans,
A crystal ball appeared vacant
The cosmos juggles with your luggage
Living circus circumstances
The jester's desperate laughter echoed
Fortune tellers got diagnosed
Comedians sans audience
Acrobats sans elegance

Taught by only charlatans
A crystal ball appeared vacant
The cosmos juggles with your luggage
Living circus circumstances
The jester's desperate laughter echoed
Fortune tellers got diagnosed
Comedians sans audience
Acrobats sans elegance
