Nova the Bully - Course Correction

So, how do we get from where we're at to where we want to go
You know, the analogy is given of a plane taking off from Los Angeles heading to New York
Well, once it gets into the air, immediately it's off of its course, its perfect flight path
It has a perfect path, but it's constantly making adjustments and corrections
So, as it travels, it actually gets.. first my Mother lost her father, then my father lost his Mother and then i lost my father then his Father now my mother sick
With multiple sclerosis, feeling hopeless, I'm emotionless
Life is moving faster than the flash, but I feel motionless
I fumbled all the bags, so now I'm back to living check to check
Clocking in at lowes, is not a goal, I need to course correct
My music resurrected me, was risen from the ashes
I blew through the first one, hope I'm worth a second chance at this
Granny mind slipping, her dementia make us perfect strangers
Mighty is the Lord, mind morphing like a Power Ranger
Boy meets worlds, in this life of crime was my Topanga
First gift she gave me was the grief and a loaded banger
Stepping with my weapon, living reckless, I was pessimistic
Then I had my son, I kept my gun, but I was optimistic
Not afraid to die, but terrified of being a statistic
Let's be realistic, being broke is not the worst
But if you comfortable than lose it all, then you feel that you're cursed
But what's worse is when your people start to fade out like this verse
Small corrections to keep us on the path, to make sure that we do land where we want to land
is what we need
I find those things, those corrections can happen in a couple of ways
One, as I walk out, I say to myself, how did that go
What went well
What could I have improved
Where do I need to change
And another important aspect of that is getting some instrumentation feedback from those around me
So I speak of what I'm seeking till I see what I have said
Put my faith in certain people ended up being misled
Now they dread like those locs that sit atop a rapper's head
Cause they know that when they see me, that a word cannot be said
I've been slept on, stepped on, cast out, forgotten
When the love don't match, they smile, don't turn around because they plotting
So quick to stab you in your back, don't think they ain't been watching, it's misleading
Cause when they around you, they be oh so charming
Then they switch up so alarming that your senses can't take heed
Now they posting, smoking on their opps, on all their Twitter feeds
And the only thing that fueled them was the jealousy and greed
Then they post up with your family, asking Them what they need
So I'm cautious every step I take
Pray that if I die before I wake, that it wasn't from the venom of these snakes
Before I dip, I tap the pedal twice, just to check the brakes
For goodness sakes, when it's done, it's done, no need to clean the slate
This is Course Correction 101, and I'm the new professor
Grab your study guide and welcome to my lecture
Other people in the meeting, sales people, based on the kind of meeting it is
getting their feedback, helping you make those small adjustments
to help you get to that final destination
