Stephen The Storyteller - Creatures Are Rustling

As I sit
Beside a naked tree
The wind blows the word
O'er poetry
My fingers are cold
Like railroad steel
My hands are numb
They cannot feel
Yet thoughts are warm
Tis the season
To unmistakably bestow
Rhyme and reason
Leafless branches
Atop my head
Shaggy bark
From the Sycamore sheds
Creatures are rustling
In the fallen leaves
Gathering twigs
Amidst the debris
For their nests and dreys
To stay warm on winter nights
Snuggling with each other
Hibernal delights
As I look up through the tree
Into ole buttermilk sky
A hawk is ever soaring
Fantastically high
Into cirrocumulus clouds
With a coral and peach palette
Say farewell to the day
As we welcome
A winter sunset
