The Metal Alliance - Dance of Death
He arrived at a time most dire, his services offered for hire
Promising an effective cure, oh the agony they would endure
If only they could know the agony they would endure
A deal was made for the task at hand, removing the plague from this land
Together the town ensured his pay, to lead the beasts far away
When he completed the task, the town set out to unmask
His deceit to receive their gold, he'd better leave he was told
He spat: You're making a grave mistake
You still owe me a price you will one day have to pay
We made a deal and this is one you can not break
No one ever double-crosses me and gets away
Now they're gone never to be seen again
Nowhere to be found all searches were in vain
The emptiness inside forever to remain
The Dance of Death they will never again contemplate to disdain
Months passed into years without doubts or fears
The threat now made so long ago faded away from memory slow
Then one day after a town gathering, the children had gone without a thing
At nightfall to home three came; the deaf, the blind, and the lame
They recounted the story of the man and his flute
With an overwhelming melody he was able to constitute
All the children followed him, thus executing his will
They couldn't keep up, the curse was broken so they turned back at the foot of the hill
Now they're gone never to be seen again
Nowhere to be found all searches were in vain
The emptiness inside forever to remain
The Dance of Death they will never again contemplate to disdain
They never knew their fate
From the day that he marched off revenge was on his mind
Their sacrifice had to be steep to leave an everlasting mark behind
His plan was forged, patience required to wait for the right time
When the town had forgotten about his threat they'd pay for their crimes
Captivated by the melody inducing an overwhelming trance
The children could not withstand the joyous urge to dance
Indulging in laughter they followed the enchanting melody
Marching them over the hill where they awaited their destiny
Joyous children dancing and digging making beds for the blessed
Six feet under the ground they would lay down to rest
The cold soil's embrace they welcomed with a smiling face
They danced with death in grace, the graves were never found they didn't leave a trace
