James Wotal - Dear Mr. Fender

I'm writing a letter, to Mr. Fender
To thank him for changing my life
I bought his guitar, back in sixty four
I've been playing it ever since

It sounded so good, back in seventy two
When I played it, so long ago
It sounded great, back in ninety eight
And it sounds even better now

I brought that guitar, everywhere I went
And I played it all over the place
Mostly small towns, and road house bars
All across the United States

Many a time I was rolling down the line
Heading for the next joint to play
The sound of that guitar, opened so many doors
And my life has never been the same

Some day I'll retire, but I've still got the fire
That burns down deep in your soul
As long as I remember, how to play that Fender
I'll be playing til the cows come home

P.S. Mr. Fender, it was a great investment
Buying your guitar, like you said
I paid three hundred, way back then
And now it's worth more than fifty grand
