Stonefish - Dear Victoria

There isn’t much that I believe in
Just a musician no awards
But I know beauty when I see it, and beauty
Has no definition with words
I learned all of this when I saw her
Between the bookshelves I secured
A broken pencil and some paper
Started with an empty ledger
And then I tried the best I could
I wrote
Dear Victoria
Here I am
Holding on for the promised land
In this Gloria
I can’t stand
Dear Victoria
Help me understand
I wrote how I wasn’t a stranger
I knew her through the books we’d shared
Through Hemingway and Twain
We’d read once and twice again
Then we’d cry together there
I wrote why I would sit alone here
Although wanting nothing more
Than sitting in a chair beside you
But a hollow scare inside told
Me stay where I'd always been before
Dear Victoria
Here I am
Holding on for the promised land
In this Gloria
I can’t stand
Dear Victoria
Help me understand
And I’ll be here if you never notice me again
Sitting on the bench with keys below my hands
Writings words that I know you may never hear
I’ll still sing my song loud and clear
I tell these words to the paper
To the day you’ll understand
These letters now which may be never
But I hope that it's whenever
I feel strong enough to stand
Dear Victoria
Here I come
Holding on for the faithful one
In this Gloria
I'm alone
Dear Victoria
I'm coming home
Ooh Yeah Yeah
Oh I'm coming home
