980youssif - NIGHTS OUT OF PEARSON

Storytime
Gather around me while I’m doing Storytime
No, this ain’t go be nothing like Coraline
Just a narrative filled in with words and rhymes, oh (huh)
Hear that saxophone ringing like it's on beat (it’s on beat)
See these beaten up black forces on my feet (on my feet)
Listening to fans sing back like parakeets (yeah)
On this ride to Toronto Pearson, so neat (yeah, yeah)
Close my eyes when its dark in the night time (in the night time)
Drinking ice cold Perrier with no lime (yeah, with no lime)
I know people that will go and cross the line
Like they speeding cross a road with a stop sign (let’s go)
Merry go round like it's on repeat
I see scary shit at night like Halloween and trick or treat
I got a, heart so cold, made of concrete
Take my soldiers right to battle make the enemies retreat (yeah)
On this ride to Pearson airport got me rethinking my ways (yeah, yeah)
Reimagining what life could be without all of the praise
I remember celebrating my eleventh birthday
With a closed mind, lights out on Tuesday (yeah, yeah)
We living in a world that preaches injustice (toughness)
Another way to prove another mans toughness
2020 taught a man to make adjustments
Seeing children lose they life got me disgusted (oh yeah)
You gave up on me when I gave you all my love (all my love)
You gave up on me when I lost all hope, oh no
You’ve been toxic to my health like its a drug
I ask to make things better, but you tell me no
Did me dirty like I live at 477 (yeah)
Took a flight to New York, yelling: Where’s Kevin? (yeah)
Lost a couple people, please don’t pay no mind (yeah, yeah)
I got my brothers thanks for checking, yes I’m fine
On a fine ass evening at 7:35 pm we made it to end of Dixon road (end of Dixon road)
Make a sharp right turn exit off the 409 make a left towards another episode (towards another fucking episode)
Two lanes one arrival one departure separated by the dashed lines that look like barcodes
I foresee a better future where I know I can just spread my wings like BOEING that's just waiting in the cold (yeah)
So I walk through the doors, check the fucking screen
United Airlines telling me to go visit the bean (what?)
British Airways wanting me to go visit the queen (ok)
But Egyptair been calling say to go see family
So I book me a flight to motherland
In my roots sweatpants and my timberlands
Small suitcase look like it was contraband
Boarding ticket, passport in my left hand
I’m ready to say goodbye
Like caterpillars becoming a butterfly
I hate this life that makes me stay up at night & cry
For people that would never even bat an eye
Storytime
Gather around me while I’m doing Storytime
No this ain’t go be nothing like Coraline
Just a narrative filled in with words and rhymes
Hear that saxophone ringing like it's on beat
See these beaten up black forces on my feet
Listening to fans sing back like parakeets
On this ride to Toronto Pearson, so neat
