oaky red - Glory

You see the world through a lens of glory
You let me look and I'm still riding that high
Can't really hate you though, you moved on
Our story's laced with poetry to hide the plot within
But I remember what you told me
That your skin could taste the air and the earth rose beneath your feet
You fill horizons like a new dawn
And now I'm diving in the waves to chase the light that's peaking through
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is
Summer rain falls
To attest the pain we caused
I really thought I'd given my all
And you said the same but now we're
Sick of the trial and error so lets get it right this time
I'm swimming away from sands but I can't fight the tide
And you know the oceans well
But this holy ground feels stuck inside our memories
Back when I was skipping stones ascending up the evergreens
Camping trips and bike routes on the beach by open seas
Building castles by the shipwreck where the sand swallowed our feet
All the kids were kings and queens
Back when beauty was a feeling not a scene
And I could say the ground was holy then
Back then you would hold me down
Now the waves crash over me
As my imaginations losing wind you grabbed me and you said
Forget the past so you can let the present breath
You see the world through a lens of glory
You let me look and I'm still riding that high
Can't really hate you though, you moved on
Our story's laced with poetry to hide the plot within
But I remember what you told me
That your skin could taste the air and the earth rose beneath your feet
You fill horizons like a new dawn
And now I'm diving in the waves to chase the light that's peaking through
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is holy
But then you said the ground is
But then you said the ground is
